From 26-27 November, Dr Jeffrey Skopek (Deputy Director of LML) will participate in Health and Artificial Intelligence: Law, Ethics and Society, an international conference at the University of Hong Kong.

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine and healthcare has become increasingly commonplace and ubiquitous. This conference brings together experts from various stakeholder disciplines for an interdisciplinary discussion on the application and impact of AI in these fields from legal, ethical and societal perspectives. Using inquiries that cut across individual disciplines, we seek to explore the implications and challenges of the application of AI from a wider, holistic perspective.

Dr Skopek's presentation will discuss issues of liability for misdiagnosis by AI in healthcare.

The conference was organised by the Centre for Medical Ethics & Law (CMEL) at the University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with LML, the PHG Foundation, and the Centre of Genomics and Policy at McGill University. Further information can be found here.
