The Cambridge Network for Values and Science (CANVAS) met on Friday 17 November 2023 at Newnham College, Cambridge. CANVAS is a collegial forum for a Cambridge-based ecosystem of law, social sciences, medical sciences and public engagement. The group was created to provide a space to touch base for those working at the intersection of biomedical issues, humanities and social sciences. The group includes representatives from LML, the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, the PHG Foundation, the Centre for Science and Policy, the Healthcare Improvement Studies (THIS) Institute, the Kavli Centre for Ethics, Science and the Public, and Wellcome Connecting Science.
The November meeting focused on the group’s objectives and future plans. The group will focus on discussing exciting new issues in future meetings, harnessing the collaborative potential of our leading medical, social science, and legal institutes.
