LML is delighted to host Mr Jan van Staalduinen a PhD candidate and Lecturer from Leiden University. Jan joins LML following research visits to Oxford's Institute of European and Comparative Law and Vienna's Department of European, International and Comparative Law and Institute for European Tort Law.
During his time at LML, Jan will focus on questions of liability for medical AI. His research examines the regulatory landscape governing medical AI in the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union, with particular emphasis on the interaction between public law and private law.
"The discussions with the members of the Centre stand out in particular. They have been interested, friendly and valuable for my research, especially with regard to the comparative component. This visit has also allowed me to develop as a researcher," Jan said.
Jan's visit reflects LML's commitment to supporting outstanding early-career scholars working at the intersection of law, technology, and healthcare. We look forward to engaging with him and learning from his research during his time in Cambridge.
