On Saturday 8th September, the CeBIL events concluded with a Methodologies Retreat involving all programme partners – from Cambridge, Copenhagen, Harvard, and Michigan. The project leaders from each of the five core studies, and sixth synergy study, convened to discuss the methodologies and approaches for each of CeBIL's six studies. Each presented preliminary ideas for their scheme of research, and received feedback from designated commentators from within the CeBIL collaboration.

This was an opportunity to take on board feedback from the CeBIL Annual Symposium, and incorporate audience commentary into the CeBIL programme. Significantly, this included making efforts to involve the full range of stakeholders in events linked to the delivery of research outputs. Patients/users were one such identified group, and the possibility of outreach work was raised. Planning also commenced for the organisation of the second Annual CeBIL Symposium, which will likely be held in Cambridge in September 2019.
