Dr Kathy Liddell (Director of LML) has been invited to participate in a CSaP Policy Leaders Fellowship meeting on human genome editing on 20 November 2020.

The CSaP Policy Leaders Fellowship addresses the needs of the most senior policy makers, whether in Whitehall, Brussels, devolved administrations in the UK, or equivalent organisations, by providing access to research and academic expertise. Launched in 2013, its discussions focus on the need for long-term thinking, the value of evidence, and fresh perspectives on key challenges.

Chaired by former UK Cabinet Secretary Lord Richard Wilson, the November meeting will pay particular attention to aspects of human genome editing related to fundamental biological research and potential human therapeutic uses. Dr Liddell’s primary contribution will be to offer perspectives on social, regulatory and ethical dimensions.
