This thesis examines how emerging health technologies—particularly precision medicine—influence law in action. It investigates three interrelated questions through a year of intensive fieldwork within Chinese pharmaceutical regulatory agencies

2. How have these challenges affected the existing regulatory regime?
3.And how should such technologies be governed in the future?
