Family and reproductive law are legal domains that address matters related to family dynamics, relationships, and reproduction. These areas of law encompass a broad range of issues. Reproductive law focuses on the legal aspects of fertility treatments, surrogacy arrangements, and matters involving parental rights and responsibilities in assisted reproduction. Family law covers a very wide variety of issues (including divorce), some of which are relevant to medicine, such as providing a legal framework for resolving disagreements about medical treatment of children.

These areas of law play a critical role in regulating and safeguarding the rights and responsibilities of individuals and families in various life stages.
